Our Work in Medical Education
Since 2013, DoDaum has worked with the Pyongyang University of Sciences and Technology to create and implement the Online Medical Education Program. The formal program is set to begin in September 2018. This is the first time in history that any of the 25 million private citizens will be able to communicate with foreigners via the internet.
North Korea imposes censorship on the internet and medical literature from the West, thereby severely limiting the promises of its education programs.
DoDaum is implementing an online education platform which supplies open educational resources and connects professors throughout the world with North Korean students via video conferencing.
The initiative has already begun and a series of pilot programs will be implemented and assessed until the end of 2017.
North Korean medical/public health students will access the program at the Kim Il Sung University or Pyongyang University of Sciences and Technology, which allows limited, monitored access to the worldwide web for students.
